A Different Way to Approach Stress Eating

You probably hate it when you stress eat, don’t you?

After all, stress eating can make you feel out of control.

And then there are the extra calories and bloated belly. :(

If you want to eat when you’re stressed, recognize your body needs something from you. What do you need right now?

Is it rest? Is it fresh air? Is it movement? Is it a deep breath? Is it being okay with not being perfect?

Be self- compassionate.

It’s okay that you want to soothe with food. If you choose to eat, let go of the guilt. Put what you’re eating on a plate, put away your phone or laptop, and give your food all your attention.

If you’ve just overdone it with food, can you forgive yourself? Gently reflect on how you can support yourself with more care next time.

Your patterns with stress eating aren’t about food.

They’re really just an opportunity to be more compassionate and kind toward yourself. 🙏✨💖
